January 2017

We had record breaking snow fall this winter.  January was the worst.  Church was even cancelled twice.  Several roofs in the area collapsed due to snow pack and several people had leaks due to ice dams. It was neat to witness the service preformed when disaster strikes.  Jon shoveled our roof twice and he and Hyrum helped with several others.

Where'd you go, Ephraim? I think if he could, this kiddo would live outdoors.  Even in the freezing cold and blowing snow he wants to be out.

Jon shoveling the shop roof.

Porter's coast got left out at the cabin so he used Lydia's old pink one most of the winter.  Good thing he wasn't old enough to care.
View from the front window after Jon shoveled the roof.

It was a bit like a maze out there with snow about 3-4 ft. deep on all sides of the path to the shop and the path to the back neighbors.

I finally donated these items I won at my senior party 19.5 years ago, wow!

Celebrating New Year's Day at the cabin with the Andrews.

Porter. Zerin and Rosy in the picture below.

Dad bought a lot of knee high nylons to fill with rock salt and throw on the roof to prevent and melt ice dams.  The kids decided to have fun with the leftovers.

Zerin will randomly choose to clean and I love when he does.  This day he made everyone's beds for them.  Such a sweet boy!

Hanging out at Clare's while Lydia was getting her ears pierced.  This is her second attempt and hopefully it works.

Results of Lydia and Zerin doing Mom's hair.

Lydia did amazing in basketball this year.  It was fun to watch her be aggressive, steal the ball, and make lots of baskets. This is the one sport she really enjoys.

What do you do in the winter when you're all snowed in?  These kiddos are having an indoor camping adventure!
