New Year's

For a fun family activity we went swimming at Roy Stone Hot Springs.  Lots of fun!  That night Jon and I went to a New Year's Eve Eve party (12.30.11).  The next night we had a family party (as requested by Lydia) with the McCammon family.

*notice Zerin's black eye...poor baby!

Happy 1st Birthday, Zerin!

One year ago today our lives were greatly blessed.  We have LOVED having you in our home, Zerin!  You truly bring a tremendous amount of joy to our family.  Some of your favorite things are: playing outside (you know your shoes mean outside so whenever I say shoe you get really excited and start saying, "shshshshs"), playing with sissy and brother, "talking" on any phone, eating, feeding yourself, and jabbering.  We love listening to your voice as you're learning to talk.  (BTW, you started walking just before Thanksgiving, almost 11 months old)

*he fell and hit his left cheek bone on a shopping cart at Home Depot today...black eye to come :(

7 teeth and counting...

Instead of cake we had applesauce with whip cream.  Sorry, Zerin, for the lack of a cake but after all the sweets from Christmas I just couldn't do it.  I'm pretty sure you enjoyed this just as much :)

On the move with your new shopping cart!  Other presents you received:  hard cover books with flaps from our family, stackable cups from Gma and Gpa DeCoria, and $5 from Gma and Gpa Lindsey.

This is our new favorite way of getting rid of large quantities of boxes. It's so great to have an open field behind our house!

Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful Christmas! Falling on Sunday made Christmas even better. It was so nice to attend Sacrament meeting and feel the spirit of what Christmas is really about. I think Christmas should be on Sunday every year.
On the "hunt" with a GPS for Santa's gift to Hyrum.  Santa brought Dad a 243 (gun), Mom a laptop (complete surprise), Lydia a barbie with a glitter blow dryer and a princess suitcase,  Zerin a mini Kawasaki 4wheeler, and Hyrum new undies with a note leading him on a hunt for his 20 gauge.
Barbies, barbies, and more barbies... I think I have officially made up for the lack of barbies I experienced in my childhood.  (Unintentionally, of course...)
Santa brought Hyrum a 20 gauge shot gun.  Perfect for our amazing bird hunter!  Another fun family present is the new ping pong table.

December 2011

We had a fun December with lots of visitors. Jon's parent's and brother came for a few days and then my parent's came for a few days. After that Jon's parent's and brother stopped by again on their way back from Washington to drop off Hyrum, who went with them to visit Cooper's family.  Then it was Christmas and Zerin's 1st Birthday!
Zerin loves the phone and whenever he can get his hands on it we find him holding it up to his ear "talking".  One time our home phone rang and Lydia answered it.  After a few moments she hung up the phone and said, "All that was was somebody's kid saying "Ahh, ahh, ahh..."  I instantly thought to myself, "That sounds like something Zerin would do."  Sure enough, I looked over at Zerin and there he was carrying Jon's cell phone around still saying "ahh, ahh, ahh."  Thank goodness he called our home and somebody else!
Even with freezing cold weather, going outside is by far Zerin's favorite activity.  If Hyrum and/or Lydia are outside he'll stand and pound on the back door and yell at them.  Every time I bring him inside he cries.
Jon decorated the mountain with Christmas lights.  It looked great! (Can't see cause it's light outside...)

Zerin did pretty good with the Christmas tree.  He broke a few bulbs and pulled off what he could reach but, considering his age I think he did well.

Gma and Gpa gave Mom and Dad a card game called Play Nine (golf).  We love it and play all the time!

Zerin with the cute little puppy Gma and Gpa DeCoria gave him.

Dad and Hyrum did a decent amount of bird hunting this month.  Lydia enjoyed watching Dad clean the birds.
