Thanksgiving weekend

We spent Thanksgiving in Washington this year with the DeCoria clan. All six kids and spouses were there. It was great to see everyone and the food was, of course, yummie!

Taunya and Brooke did a fabulous job decorating the table and room. The pictures don't look near as nice as it was. I'm glad someone has creativity in this family :)

It's sort of joke in the family that when Jon and I come to visit my parents we always cause a stir in one way or another. My parent's had been wanting new carpet for quite sometime so Jon and I decided that was a weekend project that we'd help them get done. In less than 48 hrs we had carpet bought and laid and a few walls painted. The following are some photos of the process. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the end project. Mom or Taunya you'll have to send me some or post some on your blog that I can steal. The house looks great and Mom was even okay with the carpet we picked out. Way to go us!

These next pictures are of Kaleb's 4th birthday party. The kids had a great time with the bounce house and trampoline.

Lydia did good with the trampoline, but for some reason didn't care for the bounce house. You can tell by the smile on Hyrum's face he was having a great time!

Here are some photos of the inside of our Weiser office. I really wish we would have taken some before photos, because it's one of those projects where you would never guess it's the same house. We love how it turned out! Of course looks better in person though, so come visit us and you'll get a personal tour of the whole 800 sq ft :)

"I have two Gammas!"

Grandpa and Grandpa DeCoria came to visit us this weekend. On Friday we made lots of yummie applesauce. Thanks Mom and Dad for all the help! Lots of hands make light work :)

On Saturday morning Grandpa cut Hyrum's hair and then Aunt Elise kept the kids while we all went to the Temple. That evening when we stopped to pick up the kids at David and Linda's, Lydia all of the sudden realized she had two Grandmas. Grandma Shauna walked in the door and Lydia excitedly yelled "Gamma!" Then she looked at Grandma Lindsey and said "that Gamma too... I have two Gammas!" Then Grandpa Fred walked in the door and she looked at both her Grandpas and excitedly announced, "I have two Banpas!" The realization was quite a joy to Lydia :) She is greatly blessed to have two "Gammas" and two "Banpas" that love her and live close enough for her to be able to spend time with them.

I have always felt that my grandparents have been a great blessing in my life and I feel so blessed to have a relationship with each of them. I look up to and admire my grandparents and appreciate the love they have always abudantly shared with me. Family is what this life is really about!





PS There aren't any pictures of me because I currently have a sinus infection and have a big red nose from blowing it all the time-- Yuk! I can't wait to feel better!!!

A Dream Come True

I was raised with one sister and four brothers. My sister left the house when I was 12 so I pretty much remember being raised with all boys. There were a few bonuses to that, but I always wanted a little sister. I remember putting that on my list for Santa for years. Santa never brought my little sister, but two years ago my wish came true when Lydia Jane joined our family. I have enjoyed every minute of having a little girl in our home. And, little GIRL she is! There is no doubt that Lydia is a little Mommy. She loves babies and takes very good care of them. (Not to mention her love for makeup and jewelery and anything pretty.) I used to watch little girls pushing babies in strollers or carrying their babies in the grocery store and anxiously awaited the day when that was part of my life. Now that is a part of my life! These are some pictures of Lydia and I after our walk around the block with her pushing her baby in the stroller. Notice the blue "blanket" (all my dish clothes are considered blankets), Lydia never takes a baby out of the house without a blanket. She's going to be a great Mom! Thanks for letting me be your Mom, Lydia. I love you!

Happy 6th Birthday, Hyrum!

Since we were in Kennewick the week before Hyrum's birthday we had his birthday party up there with all his cousins. We went to Easta Pizza and ate pizza and let the kids play games. Hyrum had a great time playing games, earning tickets and buying prizes. The only downside to his party was that his Dad wasn't there. Jon had to work two days while we were gone so he's wasn't able to join us.



These are just a few of the family members that were there. Everyone that lives there was there except Brian and Marshall (they already had plans to go paintballing).

These are pictures of the day before Hyrum's birthday, Friday night. We went out to dinner and brought Trevor along since we were celebrating Hyrum's birthday. (Hyrum and Trevor appear to be attatched at the hip most of the time). Jon and I had a seminar in Boise on Hyrum's birthday so he spent the entire day with Aunt Marae and Elise. Marae took Hyrum and Trevor bowling and to the dollar store. At Grandma and Grandpa Lindsey's house they sang to him and had cake. This is the new bike Hyrum got for his birthday. It was a much anticipated present as his bike broke a couple months ago and he's been doing without.


This last picture is included because this is how are family began... When two people fell in love... and are continuing to fall more and more in love everyday!

Here's some photos of my adorable little 6 year old, Hyrum. Usually he loves having his picture taken, but he didn't care for it too much this day. Fortunately, our sweet friend Heidi who is very patient, was able to take a few good shots. I'm sure it's hard to sit still when you're almost 6 years old and bursting with energy :) You're adorable Hyrum and I love you!

Trip to Kennewick

On the way to Kennewick we stopped at the Dead Man's Pass Rest Area, which was closed, to let the kids run around. Hyrum immediately found the beautiful red leaves that were untouched and began building a pile to jump in. Lydia helped the best she could. It was an absolutely beautiful fall day and we couldn't resist staying and playing a little while.






One of Lydia's favorite activities is to sit in the bathroom and get ready with Grandma. It's such a girl thing to do and she loves it! Grandma doesn't hesitate to "make up" Lydia the same as she does herself, which is why Lydia loves it so much.

What a pretty little girl! Just don't get any ideas because makeup isn't allowed until you're 12, Lydia.
