Labor Day Weekend 2013 Mt. Rainer

Labor Day weekend happened to be opening weekend of Archery season so rather than sit at home (or in the trailer) by myself with four kids, I joined my family on a camping trip to Mt. Rainer.  It was wonderful!

Hyrum and Lydia loved spending time with their cousins and weather was perfect!

My adorable little Zerin!

Such a sweet happy baby!  Porter is a wonderful blessing to our family!

Zerin got a lot of miles out of those boots on this trip.  He amazed me with how far he walked/hiked.  He must take after his Daddy!

This is a waterfall at the actual mountain, not just in the park.

These deer obviously are use to people.

We picked and ate LOTS of delicious huckleberries.  This water crevasse is where we washed the blue off our hands.

My little hiker

This kid was one happy camper outside.  He would sit on the grass and play and watch the other kids run all around him.  So content out there.

Porter learned to crawl on this trip.  Before this he was only an army crawler.  He took to crawling in no time once we put him on the grass.  Can't say I blame him!

I didn't see too much of this kid.  He was always off with his cousins and he even brought his own tent to sleep in.  He's growing up way too fast!

One thing I love about Hyrum is how likeable he is.  He has an easy time making and keeping friends.

Being a single parent was tough; thankfully, my parents were more than willing to help, as always!

The drive home from Washington.  Do you see two?

The kids and I had a great weekend and so did Jon.  He filled his elk tag with a nice big 6x6.  He's a pretty amazing hunter!

There was a flee market in Packwood (about 10 mins from out campground).  Hyrum bought this ancient football in hopes to resell in on ebay for big bucks.  Unfortunately, it didn't pan out for him, but way to be thinking Hyrum!

August 2013

Hyrum and Lydia had a cooking contest to see who's meal I'd like better.  One of Lydia's favorite things is to cook.

Grandpa's the best haircutter EVER!  Zerin says "Baba cut my hair."

He is one big eater!

Lydia took ballet once a week all through the summer.  She didn't love it.  Hip hop is much more her thing :)

Recital night with Grace

With August comes the start of school.  Hyrum decided that after three years of homeschooling that he was ready to go back to public school.  It's strange and sad to have them both gone all day but they're enjoying it.  I wish school hours could be about 1/2 of what they are.  I don't think it's right for children to be out of the home from 7:40-3:00 for Lydia and 7:40-3:45 for Hyrum.  Then after school there's homework and sports practice.  The time we have with our children is so short and goes by way too fast!

This was Jon's birthday "cake."  It's a coconut pie of sorts.

Happy 36th Birthday, Daddeo!  You are the BEST!  Truly, Jon is amazing.  I have so much to learn from him and I'm grateful for the example he sets for me.  Our children are blessed to have such a good man for a father.

Lydia went to a bridal shower with me and one of the games was making a wedding dress out of TP.  When Gma Shauna came the next day Lydia couldn't wait to dress her up!  What a good sport Grandma is!
