Camping on Mann's Creek River

We started the weekend off down by the reservoir with the boat planning on just fishing, but due to some roudy neighbors we decided to leave the boat there and take the trailer up the road a ways and camp on the river. Turned out to be a great idea! It was a pretty hot weekend for May so sitting by the river helped us all cool off.

Jon and Hyrum spent some time target shooting. Hyrum loves to do "boy" stuff with his Dad.

We went on a nice walk/hike up to Fairchild Reservoir that was a couple miles from where we camped. Jon and the kids road the 4-wheeler most of the way. (I started with Lydia in the jogger hoping she would fall asleep but she LOVES the 4-wheeler and threw a fit if we made her get off.)

The spring flowers were beautiful and once we got to the top and made it to the reservoir we laid out a blanket and ate lunch and did a little wading. The water was a little too cold for swimming and very murky.

Lydia and Dad enjoying some yummie watermelon by the river on a beautiful spring afternoon.

Rocks for sale

Hyrum is very creative (like his Dad) and loves to find things to sell. Today is was rocks. I might have been his only customer, but he did wave down a few passerbys. It's great to see the courage and determination of little children.

Fishing at Barton's Reservoir

Jon was so proud of his little fisherman that was able to out fish both of us. Hyrum caught two fish on his very own when no one else was catching them. Rob and Ryan and Laura and their family were fishing with us.

A gift from Trevor

I had been thinking for awhile that I really wanted to get the kids a swingset. Nothing too special but something simple they could play on. Our neighbors behind us have a really basic one and the kids would frequently ask to play on it. Not too long after I'd been thinking that I wanted a swingset Hyrum's friend, Trevor, showed up at our door asking if we wanted his swingset. He never used it and his Mom wanted to get rid of it. What a great blessing and WOW does the Law of Attraction ever work! I'm grateful for our new swingset!

TaVaci

TaVaci is a "school of performing arts" that our neighbor teaches. It's a fun singing group and Hyrum really enjoys it. These are pictures of their spring concert.

Fishing and Camping at Mann's Creek

This is the sunset on a beautiful spring night on Mann's Creek Reservoir. We spent several days fishing here this spring with really no luck. It was nice that would could pull our trailer and boat up because as you can tell by the pictures it was still a little chilly. Thank goodness for trailers with heaters!

Family pictures

Our friend, Heidi, took some family photos for us. Lydia was a little too grumpy to have her individual picture taken.

Hyrum was really cute when I told him to go get dressed in something nice because we were going to go have pictures taken, he went down to his room and dressed up in his TaVaci outfit. It was a litle dressier than we were planning, but he knew what "nice" was. He's such a cute boy and loves having his picture taken.

7 Blissful Years!!!

Yep, that's right, Jon and I have been married 7 years. Maybe they all haven't been blissful, but all in all we're doing great and grow more in love each day! For our Anniversary Jon arranged for us to stay at the Ashley Inn in Cascade. His parents were kind enough to keep the kids so we had a very nice weekend alone. We brought the snowshoes and snowshoed in to "Molly's Tubs" (hot springs). It was beautiful all covered in snow with the river running next to it. Way to plan a great Anniversary, Jon!

Easter 2008

We were blessed to share our Anniversary with Easter this year. I doubt that will happen very often. Since Jon's parents had kept our kids over the weekend we met them at our church and went to their house in Fruitland for dinner. The day before the kids went to the New Plymouth Easter Egg Hunt.

343 E. Main St.- Weiser

We bought a house in Weiser today that we are going to fix up and turn into another practice. The house was so bad that Jon wouldn't let me see it until AFTER we had signed the papers. It was built in 1900 and maybe updated once in the 70s... kind of scary, but at least I'm not planning on living in it! I don't believe we have any pictures of the inside (you're all spared) but here's a few of the outside.

Soccer Season

Hyrum had his 1st soccer practice of the season tonight. Jon and I are happy that he's actually excited to PLAY this season and not just excited for the treats after the game.

After the fact...I'm not the best with remembering to bring my camera to events. I never managed to take any pictures of Hyrum playing soccer... He did well though and had a fun time.

Jon's Cleanse begins...

After the seminar we went to last month on Detoxification and Vaccine Alternatives, Jon decided to try the Standard Process 21 day Cleanse. He figured if he's going to recommend it to patients he better have some personal experience with it. Here are pictures of the foods he will be eating for the next 21 days. He'll also have SP Shakes, supplements, and more vegies with garlic and onions... lucky me :)

P.S. Since I am actually posting this in July, not February, I'll let you know that he did a great job with his cleanse. I don't know that he ever complained about the food he had to eat, or I should say, the lack of food he was allowed to eat. I'm very lucky my husband's not a picky eater; he's usually happy just to have food!

A night with the Andrews

Taunya and Jason and their family stayed a night with us on their way to Shelley. Hyrum always love to play with his cousins! They also stopped on their way home and watched the Super Bowl with us. We always enjoy visitors :)

Here comes Grandma!

Grandma Shauna came to our house January 24th-28th to watch Hyrum and Lydia while Mom and Dad went to a seminar in Boise. She brought Joshua with her and Hyrum and Joshua had a great time together! Mom and Dad stayed the night in Boise Saturday night and Grandma took the kids to Carl's Jr. that night. After Joshua had an accident in his pants and Hyrum cut up his toes in the door, all while Lydia was fussing because she was tired, Grandma made a mental note never to do that again :). I guess that's why you're only a parent once and you do it while you're young!

Dad took Hyrum and Joshua 4wheeling Friday night after work. Grandma and Joshua planned on leaving Sunday but Kennewick was getting a beautiful snow storm that day and so they stayed and went home Monday morning. We've had a lot of snow this winter.

Happy New Year's!

Happy New Year's Day! For New Year's we went to Given's Hot Springs about 40 minutes south of where we live. We went with our friends, Tony and Laura Strasser and their children. The kids had a great time in the pool!
